Amidst ban, Shane Nigam’s controversial letter to ‘RDX’ producer leaks – Times of India

Shane Nigam’s controversial letter to Sophia Paul, the producer of the upcoming film ‘RDX’ is surfacing online, amidst the ongoing row of getting boycotted by top film bodies in Kerala. Film bodies – Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) and Kerala Film Producers’ Association (KFPA), on Tuesday announced that they have decided to not associate with Shane Nigam and Sreenath Bhasi, citing the complaints they received apropos the bad behaviour of the young actors on the sets. In the letter addressed to producer Sophia Paul, allegedly written by Shane Nigam, the actor demands to give his character Robert, which he was promised as the lead character, the ‘primary importance’. The letter reads, “With utmost respect, I would like to inform you that I have been developing many concerns regarding the movie wherein you have engaged me as a lead actor. While entering into an agreement with me with respect to the movie, I had been informed that I have been casted in the movie as a lead actor along with two co-actors. I was engaged by you to play the lead role of the character of Robert. During the initial discussions, I was made to understand that the character of Robert was projected to be as a lead role and it was played along with two supporting co-actors. However, during the shoot of the movie coupled with various other incidents, generated intense concerns in my mind that the role which I was playing is not given the adequate importance that a lead character demands. I would love to seek a clarification on the above mentioned concerns as it may affect me in my personal and professional life. At this juncture, I would be glad to know regarding the further time required to complete the shoot as the deadline for the completion of the movie has already elapsed as per the initial discussions. Kindly let me know regarding the progress of the movie and further time required for completing the entire formalities.” It further reads, “As I was promised by you that I will be playing the lead role in the movie and the character of the Robert is the most prominent character in the movie. I humbly request you to give primary importance to the role of mine at the stage of marketing, promotion and branding of the movie. While launching the poster and the trailer of the movie, the character played by me of Robert should be given primary importance and it should be branded in such a manner that in the eyes of the viewers the role played by me should be reflected as the lead role. The said prominence of my character should be maintained in the final cut of the movie as well. Expecting a prompt and positive reply.”
