Spanish striker Diego Costa has signed with Brazilian club Botafogo

<p>After parting ways with Wolverhampton Wanderers of the English Premier League in June, the 34-year-old is now a free agent. Diego Costa played for teams including Valladolid, Rayo Vallecano, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, and Wolverhampton Wanderers throughout his extended stays in Spain and England.</p>

<p>Diego will start his time with the club in Rio de Janeiro in the next days, according to a statement on Botafogo’s official website posted on Saturday.</p>

<p>In addition to clubs in Europe, Saudi Arabia, and at least one other Brazilian organization, Costa, who was born in Brazil but acquired Spanish citizenship in 2013, played for La Roja in two World Cups.</p>

<p>Brazilian Serie A leaders Botafogo have won 15 of their first 19 games and are 16 points ahead of Flamengo in second place.</p>
