The tone of Day 5 of the IND versus WI 2nd Test was summed perfectly by Ravindra Jadeja’s yawning

Rain ruined the second and final Test between India and the West Indies on the last day of the match, resulting in a draw. The players of the two teams waited in the changing rooms without bowling a single ball, hoping that the weather would clear up.

The only option left to the cricketers was to wait and unwind while sitting in the changing room.

On social media, a screengrab of Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja speaking on the phone has gone viral.

Jadeja was on the phone, yawning and fidgeting with a shoe in his hands.<img decoding=”async” loading=”lazy” class=”alignnone wp-image-94599″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-the-tone-of-day-5-of-the-ind-versus-wi-2nd-test-was-summed-perfectly-by-ravindra-jadejas-yawning-download-2023-07-25t163907.571.jpg” alt=”” width=”975″ height=”730″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-the-tone-of-day-5-of-the-ind-versus-wi-2nd-test-was-summed-perfectly-by-ravindra-jadejas-yawning-download-2023-07-25t163907.571.jpg 259w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-the-tone-of-day-5-of-the-ind-versus-wi-2nd-test-was-summed-perfectly-by-ravindra-jadejas-yawning-download-2023-07-25t163907.571-150×112.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 975px) 100vw, 975px” />

The exact moment encapsulated the whole day.

At the conclusion of Day 4, West Indies were 76 for 2 in their fourth innings, and India needed 8 wickets on Day 5 to win the match.

Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, two elite spinners, together with the outstanding Mohammed Siraj, gave India hope that they might bowl the hosts out.

India would have been unhappy in the outcome after four days of excellent play, which included two fifty-plus scores from skipper Rohit Sharma, a century in his 500th game, a five-wicket haul from Siraj, and twin fifties from the latter.

After the washout, the game was a draw, but India won the series 1-0 since they won the first Test in Dominica.

Siraj’s outstanding bowling performance in the first innings earned him the title of match MVP. In 23.4 overs, Siraj claimed 5 wickets for 60 runs.

Right-arm pacer received his first such award in Tests with this effort.

Jasprit Bumrah was hurt and Mohammed Shami was on rest, so Siraj assumed control of the speed assault and did an amazing job.

India will now prepare for a three-game One-Day International series against the West Indies, which is scheduled to begin on Thursday.
