Landscape Mode, the ability to block unknown callers, and other new features are coming to WhatsApp for iPhone users

An update to one of the most popular instant messaging apps, WhatsApp, that benefits iPhone users, is rolling out a conversation transfer function, landscape mode support for video calls, and an ability to block obscene callers.

Users of iOS devices may access the conversation transfer functionality by downloading the most recent version of WhatsApp from the App Store. This update also includes support for video calls in landscape mode and the ability to block incoming calls.<img decoding=”async” loading=”lazy” class=”alignnone wp-image-92774″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-income-tax-payment-feature-is-now-available-on-phonepes-app-details-here-whatsapp-embraces-landscape-mode-for-video-calls-on-ios-750×439.jpg” alt=”” width=”1478″ height=”865″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-income-tax-payment-feature-is-now-available-on-phonepes-app-details-here-whatsapp-embraces-landscape-mode-for-video-calls-on-ios-750×439.jpg 750w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-income-tax-payment-feature-is-now-available-on-phonepes-app-details-here-whatsapp-embraces-landscape-mode-for-video-calls-on-ios-1024×600.jpg 1024w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-income-tax-payment-feature-is-now-available-on-phonepes-app-details-here-whatsapp-embraces-landscape-mode-for-video-calls-on-ios-768×450.jpg 768w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-income-tax-payment-feature-is-now-available-on-phonepes-app-details-here-whatsapp-embraces-landscape-mode-for-video-calls-on-ios-150×88.jpg 150w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-income-tax-payment-feature-is-now-available-on-phonepes-app-details-here-whatsapp-embraces-landscape-mode-for-video-calls-on-ios.jpg 1280w” sizes=”(max-width: 1478px) 100vw, 1478px” />

Three new features are being added to WhatsApp, claims WABetaInfo, a website that follows the app.

1) The conversation transfer function enables users to move their chat histories from one iPhone to another. This feature makes it easy to transfer the conversation history to an other iPhone without using iCloud.

2) silent Unknown Callers Option – According to the report, certain users had the opportunity to test out the silent Unknown Callers Option. By heading to Settings > Privacy > Calls, users may now block incoming calls from unknown numbers.

3) Landscape mode – Compared to portrait mode, this option offers a wider and more expansive view of the video call interface. In particular, it helps when you are a member of a big group call since it enables call participants to view more individuals on the screen at once.

Improved navigation for a vast selection of avatar stickers is also mentioned in the official changelog.

If you don’t have these features, be aware that certain accounts, as stated in the official changelog, may get them in the next weeks. If you don’t already have them after downloading this update, make sure you often update WhatsApp from the App Store and the TestFlight app.

Additionally, WhatsApp is attempting to make channels capable of responding to messages. Users may simply respond to messages posted in the community announcement group using this function without giving out their phone numbers to random community members.

Admins will be able to adjust several channel parameters in this area. According to the article, the instant messaging service intends to let channel administrators control the kind of feedback users may post on their channels.
