Jennifer Lawrence Disobeys Official Dress Code by Wearing Flip-Flops at Cannes

At the Cannes Film Festival, actress Jennifer Lawrence made a statement with her footwear choice. She violated the festival's unwritten dress rule by wearing flip flops to the premiere of “Anatomie d'une Chute (Anatomy of a Fall)”.
The actress attracted attention in a cherry red Dior Haute Couture crepe silk gown with spaghetti straps, a delicate ruffle at the bustline, and a matching red wrap. According to aceshowbiz.com, she accessorized with a white gold and diamond Archi Dior necklace.
The 32-year-old raised her skirt as she down the steps at the Palais des Festivals, exposing a pair of black flip flops beneath her chic outfit. Given that the red carpet in Cannes is known for encouraging women to wear heels, it was a risky decision. Many ladies were allegedly turned away from the “Carol” premiere in 2015 because they were wearing flats.
Lawrence posed for cameras beside producers Daniel Angeles and Justine Ciarrocchi. They assisted her as she climbed the stairs as well.
Lawrence wore her comfortable sandals to the 'Anatomy of a Fall' special screening, but then changed into more formal shoes for another premiere later that day. When attending the Cannes premiere of “Bread and Roses,” a documentary she produced, the “X-Men” actress wore the same dress but accessorized it with red satin shoes. The initiative tracks the lives of Afghan women following the Taliban's comeback.
Natalie Portman dazzled in a stunning replica of a 1949 Christian Dior gown at another premiere of the French film festival. She attended the premiere of “May December” on Saturday in a glittering strapless gown with a full, scalloped skirt and layers of elaborate blue beading.
The 'Junon' dress from the designer's 1949–1950 fall/winter collection served as the model for the bespoke Christian Dior outfit worn by the 'Thor: Love and Thunder' actress. Although it is not presently on display, the original dress is a part of The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute collection.
At the exclusive screening, Portman was joined by her co-stars Charles Melton, Julianne Moore, and Cory Michael Smith.
